Becoming a habit.
After being shaken and stirred by earthquake jolts during the week preceding, we finally found relief in another fissure eruption in Reykjanes on July 10, in the neighbourhood of the eruptions of the past two years. Because of the closure of airspace around the site, we had to wait until the following morning for an aerial survey.
There will be the usual images of the lava fountains and the lava sludge flooding the web. The first image below is somewhat special.
PS: Raw video footage has been added.
Rajendra & Dan – thanks.
Your first image, my friend, is one of THEE finest images I have every seen!!!!! It is magical!!!! The remaining images show the rath of Mother Nature! They also are just beautiful images! So finely composed my friend!!! Just wonderful!
Great snaps.
Just the right moment, perfect post by the horse and the angle of your shot … The poser is superb !
I had only 6-8 seconds before the horse turned and walked away.
I can see why you placed “Poser” first in this series: it’s not your typical lava/eruption photo, but captures the scene magnificently.
Thanks, Bob.
Fantastic, Rajan. I especially like the vertical shot. It reveals red gushing lava and the black cooling lava, whose small footprint is surrounded by moss on old lava. A proof of brand new earth being born.
Thank you, Curt. It was quite the sight.
