Car City

Wheels on grass.

Meandering through the countryside in Skagafjörður in North Iceland, one is met with a startling sight: hundreds of cars from all eras scattered on the grass at the foot of an imposing mountain. The spectacle is the handiwork of the farm’s owner and aficionado of metal, Þröstur Tómasson, a prime example of that wonderfully eccentric strain in the Icelandic DNA. We paid Þröstur a visit last month and he welcomed us warmly into his outré world.

Below the stills is a short video.
