Reykjanes reawakened.
A few hours after our initial sortie, we returned to the site late on the evening of August 3. The juice was now in full flow, craters had taken shape along the fissure line, and the floor plan was being reshaped in real time. Rivulets of lava glowed in the diminishing light. In the days following, the show has only gotten bigger and better.
These are scenes from our second assay on the very first day of the eruption.
Mother Nature at her “fast and furious” best here my friend! Just an amazing up close and personal look at the fury that lies asleep under the Earth’s skin! Love all these images!!!
Thank you, Dan.
Nachi, Mervyn, Bob, and Dr. Massey – thank you.
Extraordinary footage! Awesome!
Spectacular, but the second photo is prize-winning!
Wow! I thought these kinds of pictures were only to be seen in documentaries. You were on the scene immediately and did a great job capturing the eruption. Congrats!
My god, Rajan, if there were a humanly-visible opening of the Third Eye then surely this would be it.
