Celebration of Icelandic light.
Inaugural post of a new series, Light in Iceland.
The light in Iceland can be exquisite year-round. But from mid-November to early February, when the sun hovers close to the horizon, the light assumes an otherworldly quality. The soul-shaping hues of pink and red are poetry and music writ on the wintery Icelandic landscape. Images made in this magical low-angled light will absorb us in this series.
To kick off, we focus on a Reykjavík icon, Hallgrímskirkja, at once recognizable from all points in the city and beyond.
The collection will be archived here.
