For such a visually striking feature, this crater lake is surprisingly unnamed on maps. It is in the Vatnaöldur area.

Not the Crater Lake I am used to seeing and working at amigo but so beautiful nonetheless! The deep blue sky reflection is fantastic against the starkness of the volcanic surroundings!
Amigo Dan: The blue colour is not account of the sky as there was cloud cover at the time. It has to be due to the mineral content at the bottom of the crater.
Mesmerizing. But I confess I am running out of adjectives!
