Master craftsman.
Tanaji Jadhav, at work in Banastarim village, Goa.
The making of percussion instruments found in Indian music is a traditional métier, one handed down within families over generations. He specialises in the Tabla, but is equally adept at fashioning other instruments such as the Pakhawaj, Dhol, and suchlike.
Faces of Goa collection.
A grand portrayal ! thank you sir
Thanks, Sarmila.
#2 is compelling for me. Looks timeless and respectful, yet the man’s face is directly expressive. Thanks, Rajan.
Thank you, Richard. These impromptu photo opportunities are a delight.
A great portrait of life in a rarely seen Country! Handmade, passed down through generations of traditions yet not lost in the “progress”, or regress, of a particular society. Well seen and well preserved amigo!
Thank you, Dan. Yes, in a sense like heirlooms.
Very enjoyable scenes from life in Goa. The second photo has a very special lighting that appeals to my sensibility.
Thanks, Bob. This was a ‘target of opportunity.’ I was passing by and saw him from the car window.
