Light in Iceland: Engey

Winter’s sunrise.

The mellow rays of the low sun illuminate a portion of the teardrop-shaped isle Engey, a stone’s throw from Reykjavík in Faxaflói bay.

In the second image, the distinct hump of Snæfellsjökull is discernible in the distance near the top left of the frame; closer on the top right, the mountain Akrafjall and the town of Akranes are seen.
