Faces of Goa.
We saw the lone figure tending to his buffaloes in the village of Anconem, north Goa, on a rainy afternoon. Krishna was equipped with his sickle and a rain cover made of sack cloth, known in Konkani as kaambol, traditionally worn by those who exert their limbs for a living.

These pictures may seem casual today but the lifestyle is rapidly changing. I have seen the change in E. Africa where traditional occupations have changed so much in the past 50 years that people cannot recognise the clothes and customs of their parents.
50 years from today, people will be researching your pictures to find out what life was at the beginning of this century.

I must admit that the first photo, without the context of the other two, makes me wonder on Krishna’s intent and the cow’s fate. It sends out a lot menacing vibes to my eye. However, as a series, they’re wonderful.
