What I found interesting about both the photographs is that both of them look “similar”. Think about it, one has been taken by a phone camera and the other by high end DSLR. Ok it is iPhone 6s camera and all but still a minnow when compared with the 5DS (hey, both of them have an ‘S’ in their names!). And as a matter of fact I like the one taken by the iPhone 6S…time to dump our DSLRs! 🙂
I see that Lisa, assuming that is her name, has take off the bandana/scarf in the second photograph. Probably she doffed and flicked the bandana and that is when you made the second exposure.
Was the ferry in motion or stationary? In both the photographs the railing is equidistant from the shoreline.ReplyCancel
At web sizes it is hard to see a difference if the iPhone exposure has been made in reasonably good light and the scene does not have extreme dynamic range. However, as prints get larger the differences will become more obvious.
The ferry was just revving up when I took the shots. The railing is equidistant because I used her head as a marker to place it about the horizon.ReplyCancel

The first picture presents a range of emotions (at least to me). Congrats.ReplyCancel
This is one of my favorite parts of Iceland. My brother and I put our father’s ashes in the fjord near this place.
Jon, yes, indeed, Eyjafjörður is beautiful. And good to hear that your father is one with it.

Thank you, Mervyn-bab.
