Appropriately named.
The historic farm of Mýrar – plural of Mýri, meaning ‘bog’ in Icelandic – lies on the edge of Dýrafjörður in the Westfjords region of Iceland. It is the birthplace of Þórdís, mother of the nation’s independence pioneer Jón Sigurðsson. This area is a major breeding ground for eider ducks.
