Reykjavík Pink

Arctic day’s end.

Decembers in the world’s northernmost capital are a curate’s egg, unsettled weather tempered by the warmth of jól and the prospect of luminous evenings. With the sun held low on the horizon and twilight drawn out, daylight can feel more like a guest than a given. When conditions align, the light takes on an ethereal quality, unlike anything found farther south.

A short video appears below the stills.
