Simian encounters.
Last month while meandering in rural Goa we encountered a troop of wild Bonnet Macaques. It is one of the two sympatric species of monkey found there, the other being Hanuman Langur.
This chap won’t be visiting his dentist anytime soon.
A fierce warning to all who approach him. Or maybe a call to his fellow mates or maybe a girlfriend? LOL Well done my friend!
Although it may be look fierce, he was actually yawning.
Neat! I’m torn between choosing a favorite. The close-up perhaps wins by a small margin, but both are dramatic and well composed. (A small nit: On the second one, the macaque’s chest appears to have a greenish hue. Is this an artifact or am I seeing (perhaps) some algal growth due to the humidity?)
Thanks, Bob. The green is not an artifact or a colour cast. I’m not sure what it is, and your suggestion of algal growth is plausible.
