Perlan (“The Pearl”) is a city landmark composed of a dome seated on storage tanks that supply hot water to Reykjavík. Its offerings include a panoramic viewing deck, café, planetarium, and an exhibition centre (a zipline has been added recently as can be seen in the photos below).
Over several nights last month I trained my lens on Perlan hoping to catch it in varied moods. A striking feature of the dome is that it changes colour depending on the sky, lighting conditions, and viewing direction.
A short video of my lark is attached.
Added to the Sumarnætur collection (Summer Nights).
Thanks, Sarmila and Curt.
Curt, in many cases, yes. Fortunately the terns were a little further afield and didn’t perceive me as a threat.
I like you stretched out on the grass in the midnight sun. That’s one way of keeping the kría from attacking your head! And those pastels make the pearl glow. Well done.
Spectacular structure brother! Compositions are fantastic! What a beautiful Country!
Thank you, Dan.
Beautiful, Rajan! The soundtrack was a lovely idea.:-)
Nachi, I knew you would notice.
Nice work Rajan. The bit of whimsy is an enjoyable inclusion.
