Faces of Goa.
A portrait from 14 years ago, taken at a village store in Goa. I had only one shot at this and retakes were not an option; shy, rural women from an earlier generation and cameras are not natural allies.

Don’t know why but this really touches my heart. It’s real. It’s stark. It’s honest. And it is a picture of life without a mask.
Thanks, Diana-bai.
“…life without a mask” – a commentary on our current times.
You can not imagine how connected I felt with this woman; she may be from Paliem and I form Loutolim, but I thought I was seeing an acquaintance from my village, the face of those who are the salt of the earth. Thank you.
António-bab: Glad to see the portrait provoked a feeling of kinship.
I think you should focus on Goan portraits. I find them exceptionally interesting.
Mervyn-bab: Good to hear. Mog asundi.
Yes! Gallery-quality photography, and on par with images from the masters of the art form! Very well done.
Thanks much, Bob.
