Should we not ask ourselves why, unlike the Icelanders, we joyfully, irrevocably, destroy our unique forests/jungles, rivers, and coastlines, in the name of ‘development’ when in fact it amounts to suicidal under-development that benefits the few who have a stranglehold on us and our future generations, all because of our backwardness to choose our future wisely.
