I am fascinated by both, but especially the first photo. What species of plant contributes to the green swirls in the background? Maybe some type of marsh grass? And, what are those trees with the brilliant orange leaves in the foreground? Alders? (Sorry, but I am a biologist first, photographer second).
Bob: Lyme grass is common in glacial river plains such as this one. For the image above, I’ll have to ask someone to confirm. The trees are birch, native to Iceland, in various stages of ripening.
