Masterclass in verdancy.
The Southwest monsoon in Goa (and neighbouring regions) stamps its impress on the air, landscape, and culture of the place. This small selection, collected over several years, paints the mood of the season.

Beautifully captured, Rajan!
Goa is just mesmerizing in monsoon. Always made it a point to be there in July & August till 2017 and this photos brought back so many fond memories.
Thanks for sharing!
superb photos…Sir, thank you so much for these pleasurable visual treats…
Outstanding photography Rajan baab, I feel happy that despite all the ravages and plunder there still exists magical Goa out there for our children.
Wonderfully refreshing! I specially liked the Surveying and Cowheard shots, but the whole collection is bigger than the sum of its parts.
Thanks.
Rajan, I dream of my green Goa. May it remain and grow green forever.
We can dream but it is unlikely. Modern India has an established record of corroding and laying waste to beautiful places.
I was in Goa in 1994 during monsoon. These beautiful pictures reawakened the ‘green’ memories.
There was far less concrete in Goa in 1994 and Goa was still Goa then.
Outstanding and beautiful. As a child, I myself went along when cows were taken out to graze. I remember walking in the rain and sometimes high wind with the cows.
Filomena, Margao-Berkeley
Filomena-bai: you are lucky to have those memories.
I love the ‘green’ shots, but the one that does it for me is the cowherd in the fog. Very nice.
Thank you, Bob.
I have been promising myself to visit Goa/India during the monsoons – at least once in my life. Your pictures have convinced me to start making plans for the 2022 season now. I have not seen as lush a Goa as captured in your pictures.
Aim for the July 15 to August 31 timeframe.
