One scene, many moods.
Sodiem is a tiny ward in the village of Siolim in north Goa. I explored this luscious setting over a period of many months, photographing it in varied conditions.

They would have made nice picture postcards, but I guess people have stopped sending those anymore.
Rajan Bab,
My wife is from Siolim. On my way to my “mawadyan” I used to always enjoy this scenic beauty. Thanks for capturing this and sharing it with us!!!
One thing which is of grave concern is the rate at which this beauty is disappearing from Goen. For increasing the greenery in their house (paishyanchi hirwal) they are clearing the greenery from Goa forever. Isn’t there anything that we can do to stop or at least slow down this?
Your statement “Theirs will be the last generation able to partake in these pleasures before Goa is fully concretized and overrun by Indians” in the “Front Row Seats” post is really frightening. More so because it seems so true and imminent.
Regards,
Premanand.
Rajan,
As usual you excel at displaying Goa at its best, come rain or shine.
I send these photos to my non-Goan , as well Goan friends overseas, extolling the beauty of my birthplace.
Muito obrigado.
