A spin through my ancestral village.
Parra in the Bardez taluka of Goa is my ancestral village and the source of my last name. My father, Motilal Parrikar, was born here 91 years ago in a house that now lies in ruins. Next to it is the ancestral home of Goa‘s current Chief Minister. We often drive through the village, savouring its delicate beauty and quiet (while they last).

Beautiful pictures. I saw an article on the Goa chief minister, and remembered you from the doc.culture.indian days, and googled. Found these lovely pictures!
Parra is a beautiful place. Your pictures say million words. Goa is a beautiful state but due to political bankruptcy, its been sold to foreign hands.
This is a request to you, to use your good office, to influence the CM to undo the wrongs that have been committed. Also, to put in place a system that our political class does not get to swindle the richness of the state for their personal gain.
Manohar Parrikar is of the old class. This is my perception based on my hearing and understanding. Mr Parrikar, you have the merit and the wisdom to shut out the Congress in the State, not that I have any affiliation to the BJP, but you are a good Manager of the state and need good shepherds to take goodness forward.
I wish you the best. Needless to say, Congratulations are in order for you winning the ‘Politician of the year award’ and for Rajdeep to confer it on you.
