Ingjaldshóll

The historic farm Ingjaldshóll lies in the shadow of the Snæfellsjökull glacier. Christopher Columbus is said to have spent time here absorbing lessons from the experienced Viking seafarers before embarking on his voyage to the Americas.

In the first photograph below, we see the Ingjaldshóll church at dusk. Churches all over Iceland are illuminated pink on October nights to mark the Breast Cancer Awareness month. The second image was made the next morning and presents a different perspective.

Both the shots were taken handheld in the presence of strong wind gusts, but Canon’s 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II lens was equal to the task.
