Sunrise over the Pacific.
The very first rays illuminating an aircraft at cruising altitude is a sight to behold. I got lucky on this United Airlines flight from Narita to SFO a few days ago on a B747 powered by Pratt and Whitney PW4056 engines.
This post is not about image quality – a smartphone angled behind three panes of plexiglass is far from an ideal situation. The story here is the sublime quality of light and its fast changing hues; the two images were taken less than a minute apart.
