No crowberries to pick here, eh Rajan, no matter how evil the deed?:-) BTW I heard of “crowberries” for the first time on your site, I am intrigued by this berry’s very existence. Do you eat them raw? Are they sweet? – NachiReplyCancel
No berries in Ódáðahraun. This is a desolate area in every sense. Yes, you pick them, you eat them. They grow in the wild in Iceland during the very brief Fall season.ReplyCancel
You are asking the wrong Parrikar about the crowberries 🙂 They are eaten raw, but they also used to make jam, homemade wine, topping for skyr, etc. They are mild-tasting and very juicy, not overly sweet. But I prefer bilberries 🙂ReplyCancel
