A tough life. Whooper swans ride out a ferocious blizzard in Lónsfjörður, East Fjords of Iceland.   I wouldn’t have been out making images if not for Börkur Hrólfsson who expertly negotiated the hazardous conditions (see video below).   The video is also available on YouTube.

Making it back home. A lone fishing boat returns to the harbour in Norðurfjörður on Iceland‘s Strandir coast. Icelandic waters and weather can be extremely treacherous, and although technology has now made it safer, fishing here is always fraught with uncertainty and danger.
