Vöðlavík Revisited

From the air.

This remote bay in the Eastfjords of Iceland was the locale of the most challenging rescue operation in the history of the US Air Force. An Icelandic fishing vessel Goðinn went down in a raging storm on January 10, 1994, condemning the stranded crew to almost certain death. See my earlier post for details.
