Isolation. The church at Narfeyri on Iceland‘s Snæfellsnes peninsula dates back to 1563; the current structure was built in 1888. Here lived the farmer and mathematician Vilhjálmur Ögmundsson (1897-1965). Across the fjord is the colourful rhyolite mountain Drápuhlíðarfjall.
First dusting of the season. The site of Úlfljótsvatnskirkja dates back to the settlement era, the current structure was built in 1914.
