Turbulent weather. Strong wind gusts and driving rain disrupted life this morning in Ísafjörður, the only town in the Westfjords of Iceland. But for a photographer it couldn’t have been nicer.

Low hanging fruit. Rainbows are wonderful but they don’t excite me as photographic subjects. We came upon this scene while driving in the Amargosa Desert between Death Valley and Las Vegas. It would have been perverse to not stop and take the shot. For a beautiful exposition on rainbows, see this.
