Late evening in a magical place. The historic farm of Hlíðarendi in south Iceland is associated with Njáls Saga. In the first image below, the glacial volcano Eyjafjallajökull, that erupted last in 2010, is seen in the background. See my post from 2010 here.

Isolation. The church at Narfeyri on Iceland‘s Snæfellsnes peninsula dates back to 1563; the current structure was built in 1888. Here lived the farmer and mathematician Vilhjálmur Ögmundsson (1897-1965).     Across the fjord is the colourful rhyolite mountain Drápuhlíðarfjall.
