Low hanging fruit. Rainbows are wonderful but they don’t excite me as photographic subjects. We came upon this scene while driving in the Amargosa Desert between Death Valley and Las Vegas. It would have been perverse to not stop and take the shot. For a beautiful exposition on rainbows, see this.
Making it back home. A lone fishing boat returns to the harbour in Norðurfjörður on Iceland‘s Strandir coast. Icelandic waters and weather can be extremely treacherous, and although technology has now made it safer, fishing here is always fraught with uncertainty and danger.
