Silence!

From the era of real books.

The historic Central Library (established in 1832) was one of Panjim‘s treasures, a vital resource to the city’s intellectual life. The Library was fortunate to have attracted an enthusiastic staff, proud of its workplace and sensitive to the needs of its users. I say “was” because this Library, then located in a beautiful heritage building in the centre of town, has now moved to a concrete monstrosity of Third World build quality on the outskirts of the city. The barbarians have taken over.
